ELIGIBILITY

Entry is open to any female amateur golfer (at birth) who has not reached her 19th birthday by the last day of the championship, has not started college, is a legal resident of North Carolina or South Carolina and the junior golfer, parent or guardian is a member in good standing of a club which is a member of the Carolinas Golf Association (CGA). Entries are subject to rejection at any time, including during the event, by the CGA or the host club.  The reason for rejection may include unbecoming conduct. For complete residency and eligibility requirements, refer to the CGA Tournament Manual at www.carolinasgolf.org.  The competitor must have a USGA handicap index of 18.0 or less.

RULES

USGA Rules of Golf govern play.  Local rules are distributed at the starter’s table. The CGA reserves the right to alter the conditions or schedules as stated, including alteration of the stipulated round(s) at any time during the championship. Each competitor must walk and carry her own bag (pull carts allowed if club agrees) during the stipulated round, unless the player employs a caddie.  In that case, the caddie must be 18 years old or younger and must walk. Dress code: No cut-off shorts or denim, no shorts shorter than four inches above the knees, no tank tops or t-shirts, and all shirts must have either a collar or sleeves.  Use of tobacco products by competitors or caddies is prohibited. Note:  The use of cellular phones (except in the case of an emergency), portable music devices, headphones, laptop computers, PDA’s, pagers, beepers, and the like are not allowed during a stipulated round. The competition shall be deemed to have closed when the championship trophy has been presented. Special requests for starting times or pairings are not granted.

FORMAT

The championship is contested at 36-holes of stroke play in one age divisions.  All players will play from a yardage of approximately 5900 yards.

PRIZES, TEAM MATCHES AND AJGA ROLEX JUNIOR GIRLS’ EXEMPTION

Trophies are awarded to the champion, runner-up and second runner-up.  A tie for the overall will be broken by an on course sudden death playoff.  Ties for the runner-up and second runner-up places will be broken by the USGA playoff system.  The girls champion qualifies to represent the CGA in the Mid-Atlantic Challenge, August 2-3, 2008 at the Country Club of Danville in Danville, VA.  The champion and runner-up will receive an exemption for the 2008 AJGA Rolex Junior Girls’ Championship at Carmel CC in Charlotte, NC on June 10-13, 2008.  Champion must be a member of the AJGA and pay applicable tournament entry fee to receive exemption.

ENTRIES

Each entrant must complete an official entry form. Online entry applications can be completed at www.carolinasgolf.org. No entry is accepted prior to the opening date. Entries are accepted until 11:59 p.m. of the closing date. The field will be limited to the first 72 players to register.  The CGA is not responsible for errors or delays by any mail courier or Internet service provider. Confirmation of acceptance and lodging information is sent to players when their status is determined.  Status may be checked at www.carolinasgolf.org. Fax, e-mail, telephone, late or incomplete entries are not accepted.  The entry fee must be paid by each player and must accompany this form.  Only one entry per check. Make check payable to the Carolinas Golf Association.  A player whose check is returned for insufficient funds may be disqualified indefinitely from CGA competitions. Players who "Did Not Show" (DNS) or "No Card" (NC) jeopardize their entry into future CGA championships.
